Hot Therapy for IC
A nice warm hot pack on your bladder helps to increase blood flow and relax tense muscles. There are so many options for applying warmth to your lower belly. My favorites for when you are at home are the rice packs. Hot water bottles will work, but I have always found that they don’t compress to your body as nicely as the rice packs do. They also waste a lot of water while you are waiting for the water to heat up to fill your water bottle. If you are on the go, the stick on hot pads (they are usually marketed as made for back pain) are the perfect size to slap on your front side instead of your lumbar area. Here are some popular items that IC patients swear by (the first 2 are my favorites).

Cold Therapy for IC
Ahh the relief that a cold back can bring! Especially if your peri area is feeling raw and sore. Using cold can help with the stinging and tightness that we sometimes get with a bad flare. And if you didn’t know that they make special cold inserts that look like maxi-pads, you can thank me later. See below!
